Receiving Multiple SMS Messages During a Rental

Learn how to monitor multiple messages during an active MangoOTP number rental, keep orders separate, and protect verification content.

One rental can receive more than one message

A MangoOTP number rental is designed for an active period rather than a single verification attempt. During that period, the rental detail can show multiple SMS messages received for the rented number and selected service. This is useful when an application sends a registration code followed by login, security, recovery, or confirmation messages.

Multiple-message support does not mean messages are unlimited or guaranteed. Delivery still depends on the target application, network conditions, the rented number, and the active rental period. MangoOTP displays messages that reach the rental while it is valid; it cannot force an application to send a message.

Keep one rental detail open

After creating the rental, use its detail page as the source of truth. Confirm the rental order number, phone number, service, country, start time, and expiry time. Refresh that page when a new message is expected instead of returning to the catalogue and creating another rental.

If you have several rentals, keep their order numbers separate. A message belongs to the rental detail where it appears. Do not copy a code from one number into an application session started with another number. Labels, timestamps, and message order help distinguish repeated codes.

Understand message timing

Some applications send the first code immediately, while later security or login messages may arrive days afterward. Keep the rental active through the latest expected event. A message sent by the application near expiry may arrive too late to be shown after the rental ends, so allow a reasonable time margin.

The list may update after a short polling interval. A brief delay does not mean the rental is broken. Refresh once, verify the application says the message was sent, and check that the rental has not expired. Avoid repeatedly requesting new codes because the application may rate-limit the account or send several codes that are easy to confuse.

Protect every code

Treat each SMS as sensitive. Enter a code only on the intended application page and do not share the full message in support tickets, public screenshots, or chat. MangoOTP support can investigate delivery using the rental order number, time, service, country, and visible status without needing the verification code.

When taking a screenshot, hide the phone number and message content unless a specific redacted excerpt is necessary. Never include passwords, two-factor authentication secrets, access tokens, or API keys. Delete temporary copies of codes after completing the intended action.

Expiry and cancellation rules

The rental stops receiving new messages for your account after its expiry time. Starting a new rental does not guarantee the same number or access to earlier messages. Note the expiry time and finish important verification tasks before the period ends.

Once a rental has started, MangoOTP does not provide a user-initiated cancellation action. Select the duration, service, country, and price carefully before confirmation. If a rental becomes unavailable before expiry, keep its order number and last visible status for support rather than creating repeated replacement rentals immediately.

Troubleshooting safely

If a message is missing, confirm that the target application accepted the exact rented number and reports that a message was sent. Check the selected service and country, the rental expiry, and the latest message timestamp. Wait for a short update interval and refresh the detail once.

Contact support if the rental remains active, the application confirms delivery, and no message appears after a reasonable wait. Provide the rental order number, approximate send time, service, country, and a redacted application message. More rental guidance is available in the MangoOTP Help Center.
