SMS Activation Order Statuses Explained
Order states show whether MangoOTP is preparing a number, waiting for SMS, or has reached success, failure, timeout, cancellation, or banned as a final result.
An SMS activation order moves through a small set of user-visible states. Each state tells you whether the platform is still working, whether a number is ready, or whether the order has ended. Reading the state before taking action prevents duplicate orders, incorrect cancellation attempts, and confusion about balance handling.
Pending: the order is being prepared
Pending means the order has been created and MangoOTP is obtaining a number or confirming a clear result. A phone number may not be available yet. Keep the page open or return to Order History, and wait for the state to update. This stage is not user-cancellable because the acquisition outcome is still being determined.
Active: a number is assigned
Active means the phone number is ready and the order is waiting for an SMS. Copy the number exactly, submit it once to the matching destination service, and keep the same verification session open. Monitor the order page for the message. Avoid starting a second order while the first one is active.
Success: the verification message arrived
Success is a final state. MangoOTP received the SMS for the order and displays the available message content. Use the code only in the matching destination session and do not share it. A successful order cannot later become timeout, failed, cancelled, or banned, which protects the completed billing result from being reversed incorrectly.
Failed: no usable order could be completed
Failed is a final state used when number acquisition clearly failed, stock was unavailable, or all eligible attempts ended without a usable result. The page should present the applicable balance outcome and next step. Do not keep waiting on a failed order. Review service and country availability before deciding whether to create a new order.
Timeout: no SMS arrived in time
Timeout is a final state reached after the waiting window ends and the required release and refund handling has completed. The exact waiting window belongs to the order workflow, so use the state shown by MangoOTP rather than a personal timer. Once timeout appears, the order will not receive a later success transition.
Cancelled: cancellation was confirmed
Cancelled is a final state used only after the active order has been released successfully. A cancellation request does not become final merely because the button was clicked; the platform must first receive a clear release result. When the state is Cancelled, check the order details and account flow for the recorded balance handling.
Banned: you reported destination rejection
Banned means the user reported that the destination application treated the assigned number as blocked, and the cancellation or release was confirmed. It is a final state for that personal order. It does not mean MangoOTP placed the phone number on an operational blacklist, and it does not change other users' orders.
Why there is no public “manual review” state
If a remote result is unclear, MangoOTP keeps the user order in an appropriate normal state while authorized operations staff investigate the operational record. Internal review details, routing information, and connection diagnostics are not user order states. Users should follow only the status and instructions displayed on their own order.
What to do before creating another order
First refresh the exact order and confirm its current state. If it is Pending or Active, continue the existing workflow. If it is a final state, read the balance and action information on that order. Then verify the service, country, price, stock, and destination session before placing another order. Never reuse a code from one order in another.
Status checklist
- Pending: wait; a number or clear result is still being prepared.
- Active: submit the assigned number once and monitor the same order.
- Success: use the received code in the matching session; the order is complete.
- Failed: stop waiting and review availability before another attempt.
- Timeout: the waiting period and release handling are complete.
- Cancelled: release was confirmed; inspect the recorded account flow.
- Banned: destination rejection was reported and release was confirmed.
The order detail page is the authoritative source for both state and next action. If the visible result appears inconsistent, keep the order number and traceId and contact support through the MangoOTP Help Center.
