What to Do When an App Says a Number Is Not Supported

A practical guide to checking country, service, format, account conditions, and order status when a target app rejects a number.

Unsupported does not always mean banned. A target application can reject a number because of country selection, service mismatch, number format, account conditions, temporary limits, or its own eligibility rules. The message alone does not prove that the number was banned, and it does not automatically create a refund.

Save the exact message first

Before changing anything, record the wording shown by the target application. Messages such as “invalid format,” “unsupported region,” “try again later,” and “number cannot be used” can describe different problems. Take one screenshot with unrelated personal information masked and note the time.

Do not submit the number repeatedly while trying to make the message disappear. Rapid attempts can trigger additional limits and make the original cause harder to identify.

Confirm the MangoOTP order details

Open the order and check the selected country, service, number, creation time, and current status. The service must match the target application. The country must match the country selector used in the application. A number purchased for another service or country should not be reused.

Copy the number from the order detail. If the application adds the country calling code automatically, avoid pasting the code twice. If it requests a complete international number, use the complete number shown by MangoOTP. Change only display separators that the field explicitly rejects.

Check the target account and device

Some applications limit how many accounts, numbers, or verification attempts can be associated with one device, email address, network, or period. An otherwise valid number can be rejected because the account has reached a limit or does not meet a regional condition.

Review the application's own message and published rules. Confirm that the account is allowed to register or add a number in the selected country. MangoOTP cannot remove an application restriction or guarantee that every account will be eligible.

Wait before repeating a temporary failure

If the message says to try again later, wait for a reasonable interval and refresh the order once. Do not immediately buy several replacement numbers for the same task. A delayed response, temporary application outage, or pending order update does not prove that the first attempt failed.

Keep each order number separate. If you later contact support, identify the exact order involved instead of combining several attempts.

When BANNED is appropriate

Use the BANNED action only when the target application clearly indicates that the number itself is banned for the intended use and the order is in a status where the action is available. BANNED is a personal order action; it does not add the number to a platform-wide blacklist and does not alter another user's order.

Submitting BANNED requests cancellation of that order. The action succeeds only after cancellation is confirmed. Any applicable refund is recorded only after successful cancellation and appears as a separate account transaction. Do not mark an ambiguous “unsupported” or formatting message as BANNED merely to seek a refund.

Unsupported is not an automatic refund reason

A target application's rejection can result from information or conditions outside the order. The visible message alone is not enough to decide a financial result. Rely on the final MangoOTP order status and account transaction history.

If cancellation fails or the order result remains uncertain, do not calculate or post a balance change yourself. Keep the order evidence and ask support to review it. A valid refund, when applicable, is recorded separately and can be matched to the order.

What to provide to support

Provide the MangoOTP order number, selected service and country, current status, time of the attempt, exact application message, and a masked screenshot. State whether the application had a country selector and whether it inserted a prefix automatically.

Never send a password, full verification code, access token, API key, authentication secret, or an unmasked identity document. Support should not ask you to bypass the target application's rules.

Recommended order of checks

  1. Record the exact rejection message.
  2. Confirm service and country on the order.
  3. Copy the number and check country-code handling.
  4. Review account, device, and regional limits.
  5. Wait before retrying a temporary failure.
  6. Use BANNED only for an explicit ban message.
  7. Contact support with one order number and safe evidence.
